Accelerator Mechanical Engineering

The Accelerator Mechanical Engineering group is mainly responsible for the mechanical design and integration of the components for the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF) and performs the maintenance activities for the

facility. The group is also involved in mechanical design and alignment for other accelerators.

 

Special activities of the Accelerator Mechanical Engineering group include:

 

l Support and adjusting mechanism for the accelerator components.

l Mechanical design and assembly for insertions devices (IDs): undulators and wigglers.

l Mechanical vibrations testing and simulation for optimization of mechanical   structure; ground motion monitoring.

l Survey and alignment for accelerator components installation; deformation monitoring for accelerator facilities

       during their commissioning.

l Maintenance for mechanical system of the SSRF and other facilities.
