Direct functionalization of natural silks through continuous force-reeling technique

Force-reeling and dip coating methods are combined to functionalize natural silks. The technology is sustainable, low cost and efficient to meet potential scale-up needs. The mechanical performance of functional FRSFs is comparable with spider dragline silks, and are used for strain sensing and dynamical textile displays.
