Beamline introduction

Scientific Scope

Date :2024-05-29

This high energy resolution spectroscopy beamline is the hard X-ray branch of the Energy Material Beamline (E-line, BL20U) —— a very distinctive beamline in SSRF composed of soft and hard X-ray. It has an IVU at the front end, and the experimental station is a comprehensive platform, with methods of X-ray emission spectroscopy (XES), high-energy resolution fluorescence-detected X-ray absorption spectroscopy (HERFD-XAS), X-ray Raman spectroscopy (XRS), and routine XAFS. These methods are mainly used to study the electronic structure and local structure of atoms / ions in energy materials. This branch beamline has complementary advantages with the soft branch and the combined branch.

►Key issues of atomic fine structure and electronic structures/evolution during energy conversion and Energy storage;

►High-pressure science in Geophysics, condensed matter physics (phase transition mechanism);

►Key materials for nuclear energy (bonding properties of the 5f electrons in Adventitia compounds).
