Twisted-layer boron nitride ceramic with high deformability and strength
A group from Yanshan University report the synthesis of a bulk BN ceramic composed of three-dimensional interlocked BN nanoplates whose vdW layers form a laminated structure with various twisting angles. The twisted-layer bulk ceramic was synthesized from onion-like BN (oBN) nanoparticles using conventional spark plasma sintering (SPS) and hot-pressing sintering.
