Professor, supervisor of PhD students, deputy director and head of the accelerator division of the SHINE project. Prof. Liu’s main area of research is in the field of large-scale accelerator-based photon sources, and accelerator physics and technologies, particularly FEL physics and technologies. He has made significant contributions to several world-leading experiments employing FEL, i.e. HGHG saturation, the first EEHG lasing, continuous HGHG wavelength tuning, cascaded HGHG-HGHG and cascaded EEHG-HGHG lasing, etc. Prof. Liu participated in the construction of several National Major Science and Technology Infrastructures, such as the BEPC-II, SSRF, SXFEL and SHINE.
