Wanqian Zhu

Deputy director of the SSRF Science Center
Professor. He has long been engaged with synchrotron radiation beamline research and development. He has proposed a surface shape correction technology for the bending of ultra-long mirrors, and successfully developed a bending mechanism for the surface shape with sub-micro radian resolution. Prof. Zhu has been responsible for the implementation of the beamline mechanical scheme under the SSRF Beamline Project (Phase II). He has successfully developed a liquid nitrogen cooled twin crystal monochromator and a high-energy Laue crystal monochromator, and a high thermal load liquid nitrogen cooled grating monochromator. He has proposed a high stiffness adjustment scheme that he successfully applied to a liquid nitrogen cooled multilayer monochromator. He suggested new ideas for the implementation of high stability optical components in the beamlines. Main research field: fundamental and applied research within the fields of surface shape control of optical components, white light monochromatization and overall system integration of beamlines.
